A True Caribbean Seaside Town

The Dominican Republic is a wonderful Caribbean country that is located on the Island of Hispaniola.

Sosua can only be described as a true Caribbean seaside town. A small village jam packed, vibrant and colourful with restaurants, bars, beach shacks and a market, hotels and villas, gift and souvenir shops, bakeries and butchers and the best snorkelling reef on the north coast.

The Dominican Republics Appeal

The Dominican Republic has three major metropolitan areas. Santo Domingo, on the southern coast, is the capital, with a population of two million people. On the northern coast is Puerto Plata, one of the countries main tourist resorts with some sixty thousand year round residents. Santiago, located in the central highlands, is the countries leading industrial centre, with a population of well over quarter a million inhabitants.
Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republics capital, has the distinction of being the oldest colonial city in the Americas. This city, located on the southern coast of the island, bordering the Caribbean Sea, has a population that surpasses the three million people and a land area of approximately two hundred and thirty square kilometres.

Considerably larger and more cosmopolitan than most Caribbean destination cities, offers its visitors the same sun and surf as other islands plus sophisticated nightlife and world class sports facilities.
Puerto Plata and Playa Dorada comprise the mass tourism capital of the Caribbean. The city of Puerto Plata is a vibrant Dominican town of 200,000 thats well worth exploring for its historic architecture and nightlife.

Its core, the Old City, borders the port to the east, a narrow grid of streets that was once the swankiest neighbourhood in the country.
Sosua is a small town in the Puerto Plata province of the Dominican Republic. The town is divided into three sectors. A small village with a cosmopolitan character, which offers a superb crescent shaped beach and numerous cafes, bars and restaurants.

The town was developed by a group of approximately 600 Jewish refugees from Europe who settled here in 1940 and founded the now thriving dairy industry for which the village is noted.
Tobago is the smaller of the two main islands that make up the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. It is located in the southern Caribbean Sea. The island lies outside of the hurricane belt. Originally a sugar colony, Tobago's economy collapsed after the abolition of slavery. In 1889, Tobago was made a Ward of Trinidad, and remained one until 1 August 1962.

Duty Free Shoppers Paradise

One of the seven United Arab Emirates on the sun drenched Arabian Peninsula and the second largest is Dubai. The capital is known as Dubai City. The kingdom is known for its international business zone which has been built into a major player in recent years. Dubai is modern hi tech Arabia. The streets are clean and futuristic skyscrapers dominate the city landscape.

The Fishing Village Of Kaunolu

The Kaunolu Village Lanai is a very old historical Hawaiian fishing village.

Historians believe was first established during the fifthteen century. One of the Islands greatest rulers, King Kamehameha the Great, selected the Kaunolu Village as his retreat mainly because it was one of the most prized fishing sites on the island.
